Teams Calling policies: new Inbound calls settings

Hi All,

few days ago Microsoft realeased two new settings into Teams Calling Policies:

  • Routing for PSTN calls: this setting controls the routing of inbound PSTN calls (Direct Routing, Microsoft Calling Plan or Operator Connect) for this policy assigned users
  • Routing for federated calls: this setting controls the routing of inbound federated calls (any incoming non-PSTN call that is originating outside your own tenant) for this policy assigned users

Key notes

  1. at this moment the possible choices for both settings are between Use Defaults settings, Use unanswered settings, Send to (user) voicemail.
  2. For PSTN call it’s available another option Let users decide (not supported on Teams Client side yet)
  3. I hope Microsoft will add more choices in the future, like forwarding call to an Auto Attendant or Call Queue
  4. Setting these parameters to route calls to Unanswered or Voicemail will have precedence over other call forwarding settings like call forward/simultaneous ringing to delegate, Call Groups, or Call Forwarding.

As always, I hope this could help some of you.
Best Regards
Luca
