if you have the “MAPI Unavailable Your Outlook profile is not configured correctly. Contact your support team with this information.” error in Skype for Business 2016 client, this is the simple procedure to solve it.
Few weeks ago you could find the simple workaround in Microsoft KB 3147130 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3147130), but if you search the workaround NOW you will find only a very useless link to a the July 5, 2016, update (KB3115268) for Skype for Business 2016 client. The KB say that this is a solved issue, but it’s still present in Office 2016 C2R (I use the latest 16.0.7030.1016 64bit).
So, to help you and me to solve this annoying issue, here you can find the workaround that… works!
- With Active Directory Users and Computer (advanced option on) read and copy the legacyExchangeDN value of the user with the issue
- Open Regedit on the PC with the issue
- Locate and open this key
Read the value in this binary key 01023d15
- Go the the key based on the value you find before
Create a REG_SZ key 001e6603 with the legacyExchangeDN value
- Close Outlook and SfB, reopen both, confirm the issue is solved!
